MinimalModbus is an easy-to-use Python module for talking to instruments (slaves) from a computer (master) using the Modbus protocol. Example code includes drivers for Eurotherm and Omega process controllers. The only dependency is the pySerial module. This software supports the ‘Modbus RTU’ serial communication version of the protocol, and is intended for use on Linux, OS X, and Windows platforms. It has been tested with Python2.6, Python2.7, and Python3.2.
HotSpotEngine is a Web based software for the HotSpot Billing System and all-in-one hotspot management solutions. It supports wireless or wired networking. It is designed to run on a dedicated PC, and it is available as an installable CD image (ISO). It comes with a Linux-based OS and all required software included. Its main features include the ability to create randomly generated vouchers, prepaid user accounts with time limits or data limits, the ability to refill vouchers, and user sign-up via PayPal integration.
PICI-NMS is an object oriented middleware which makes possible sending messages in a networked environment or on a single host between applications using the library provided. The supported message sending mechanism is "publish/subscribe" and this is backed up by a very easy-to-use and intuitive C++ API which hides the underlying socket interface to make the message sending as transparent to the client as possible.
P6P is a decentralized public virtual network designed for traversing NAT. It's useful mainly for peer-to-peer applications that don't implement NAT traversal themselves. It uses an unrouted segment of IPv6 (Unique-local), so it doesn't collide with other networks. It does not implement any additional security.
Whiskers is an educational PocketPC application that tries to exploit all the hardware available on most common PDAs providing a link between different features such as GPS-Bluetooth-Wireless. Generally, whiskers was built with radio reconnaissance in mind as help for geocachers or wardrivers, but also as a penetration and audit tool. There is support for in-depth device scanning, triggering actions based on filters when certain devices are in range, centralized GPS logging with search functions for private or public databases, and much more.
The lxi-control application is a command line utility for remote controlling LXI enabled devices. Typical devices include instruments such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, etc. The devices are controlled by sending SCPI commands via a LAN IP network to the devices. LXI is the successor to GPIB.
