NiftyName is a system for creating and managing virtual machine pools and all related components such as storage, private and public networks. It is intended to be used as a free alternative to Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure. All components have been designed for multi-site active redundancy, though this is not supported yet. Its architecture is based on documented XML-RPC (SSL) Web services, so you can make your own derivative tools for it. Console and GTK+ client applications are provided. VMs are based on KVM. It supports IPv6, private VLANs, multiple interfaces, user/client management, permissions, and roles.
Symbolic is an enterprise platform designed to build, configure, and manage your huge and globally distributed data centers. It features cloud computing, Web manager virtual environments (Xen, KVM, and libvirt), clustering support, custom operations and scripts support, and user and role definitions.
Active Insight is an ESP/CEP (Event Stream Processing/Complex Event Processing) framework for real-time, value-based detection and reaction to events and patterns. It offers a distributed (cloud ready) event processing runtime with an embedded pattern engine to support event aggregation and correlation. Active Insight simplifies the development of distributed event processing using the plain old Java object (POJO) approach where events and event processors are plain Java objects wired by Spring dependency injection. The framework can be used for various applications such as homeland security, online behavioral targeting, advertising, fraud detection, SIEM, telematics, algorithmic trading, and others.
KaOS is a lightweight, multi-purpose embedded Linux platform designed for virtualization and cloud computing applications. KaOS is based on Linux KVM and is a true enterprise grade hypervisor platform. KaOS makes it easy to deploy KVM based virtualization solutions. KaOS is a lightweight platform, less than 10MB in size. The SDK provides everything necessary to rebuild the platform and comes with scripts to assist with building a KaOS-enabled Linux kernel. KaOS has a menu-driven CLI called AppQueue and a management process that replaces init and other functions called kattach.
VyperBlog is an all-in-one site template for the Google App Engine. It is meant for small businesses or enterprises that want to get into the Google cloud using a turn-key solution that provides security and safety for the data being stored in the back-end database. VyperBlog provides protection from hackers and crackers who might want to abuse forms and other resources being published by those who are using VyperBlog. VyperBlog employs a unique method for securing sites called Secure-Site.
Makeflow is a workflow engine for executing large complex applications on clusters, clouds, and grids. It can be used to drive several different distributed computing systems, including Condor, SGE, and the included Work Queue system. It does not require a distributed filesystem, so you can use it to harness whatever collection of machines you have available. It is typically used for scaling up data-intensive scientific applications to hundreds or thousands of cores.
LASIC is a language that facilitates creating and managing systems in a cloud environment. It allows you to create scripts that describe a system, its components, and the relationship between those components using a declarative syntax. Various verbs can then be applied to the script such as deploy (create a new system), shutdown, or runAction(run some action on components of the system). LASIC currently supports Amazon's cloud environment (AWS). LASIC stands for Language for Automating Systems in the Cloud.
OpenNode Management Server (OMS) lets you manage OpenNode cloud nodes. It is packaged and deployed simply as a VM appliance onto an OpenNode host. Easy install and setup is provided via the local OpenNode CLI Utility menu. OpenNode Management Server is responsible for secure communication between OpenNode Cloud nodes via underlaying FUNC and libvirt infrastructure and provides a JSON-RPC API server for integration with possible GUI, WUI, CLI consoles and client applications or with other systems. OMS includes an AJAX Web Console with SSL secured VNC and SSH VM consoles for easy VM management in OpenNode Cloud.
FreeTable is a cloud database service that allows programmers to upload and download individual data values using a SQL-like API. Language bindings exist for Python, PHP, and Ruby. In many respects FreeTable is a data wiki, with notions of revision history, curation, and data rollback/roll forward.
