It supports Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera, and runs on Fedora Core. In the future, it should be supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Knoppix, and Debian. It provides abstraction for common Linux tools and other popular command line tools: ping, traceroute, ifconfig, netstat, who, arp, route, some important /proc system information and statistics, a custom file manager/explorer, iptables or Linux Firewall, Linux static routes, Linux brctl, cron scheduling, Linux users, and GRUB bootloader. It also supports MySQL. It should support exclusively all of the features of Traffic Squeezer.
Fing is a command line tool for network and service discovery. It provides you a complete view of any network in a very short time. Its smart discovery automatically detects the network type and uses the best technique to scan it. The best results are achieved on Ethernet networks (including Wireless ones), where Fing is able to detect all network hosts, firewalled ones included. The service discovery feature quickly detects active TCP services on a target host or network. Fing is based on Look@LAN.
GroundWork Monitor Community Edition can give you insight into your computing infrastructure, allowing you to see the current and historical states of all your computers: servers, desktops, and laptops, all of your network devices, all of your services (like TCP/IP and Web services), and all of your applications (like mail servers and database apps). You can choose to be alerted when something goes awry via pager, SMS, email, or phone, and even set up automatic restarts or fall-overs.
MediaCore is a media-focused CMS. It features rich video and audio support, YouTube/Vimeo integration, HTML5 video, support for the iPad/iPhone, podcasting, iTunes RSS generation, user-submitted content, an embedded media player, and searching. It is highly customizable. There is both a front-end for users and a back-end for administrators. Users can browse videos or podcasts. Users can search for videos by topics and tags. Users can upload videos to the platform; administrators can moderate newly uploaded videos. Administrators can add video, audio, or podcasts. A comment platform for moderation is built-in. Podcasts can be video or audio. It also has automatic iTunes feed generation, automatic RSS feed generation, and feedburner support.
Patchman is a patch status monitoring tool for Linux systems. Patchman clients send a list of installed packages and enabled repositories to the server. The server (CLI or Web) tells the user which hosts require updates, whether those updates are normal or security updates, and shows installed packages that are not part of any repository. Hosts, packages, repositories. and operating systems can be filtered using features or arbitrary tags. For example, you can find out which hosts have a certain version of a package installed, and which repository it comes from. Patchman does not (yet) have the ability to update packages on hosts.
Syoncloud Logs processes log files from various applications and many servers. It can capture business relevant information from everyday log files generated by Web servers, business applications, and back office applications. It uses Flume sinks that run on the machines that produce log files. This data is filtered and relevant events channeled to HBase. The HBase NoSQL database is used for actual data analysis. The number of HBase nodes depends on the amount of processed log files. Syoncloud Logs has an easy to use installer that includes all necessary components such as Hadoop, Flume, Hbase, and Zookeeper.
Traffic Squeezer is a Linux kernel based WAN network traffic accelerator from Doublefish Solutions. It uses methods such as traffic compression, traffic PDU coalescing, protocol specific acceleration (such as TCP acceleration mechanisms), and quality of service. Traffic Squeezer also contains custom L7filters (application protocol filters), DPI (Deep Packet Engines) and so on to control and administrate your traffic. With Traffic Squeezer, you can optimize MPLS,ISDN, leased links, Satellite Networks, and Marine Internet, and even build your own custom WAN Appliance with Traffic Squeezer. A GUI is now supported via Doublefish Solution Aquarium. Aquarium is a Web-GUI that also supports Traffic Squeezer, Squid, and other open source solutions.
