Yagoburn (Yet Another Gui Optical BURNer) is an intuitive GUI wrapper around cdrkit and dvd+rw-tools for burning optical media on GNU/Linux systems. It uses the wxpython toolkit for the GUI, so it blends perfectly with a GTK+ environment, and is free from any heavy desktop environment dependencies.
Simpleburner is a simple CLI application to make burning CDs and DVDs easier. It writes a directory with your files to burn to a CD. You have to set up some things like ISO image name and location for it. It can be run in modes like test burn, makeiso-only, or burn-only. More information is included in the help message.
datapacker is a tool to group files by size such that they fill fixed-size containers (called "bins") using the minimum number of containers. This is useful, for instance, if you want to archive a number of files to CD or DVD, and want to organize them such that you use the minimum possible number of CDs or DVDs. In many cases, datapacker executes almost instantaneously. Of particular note, the hardlink action can be used to effectively copy data into bins without having to actually copy the data at all. datapacker is a tool in the traditional Unix style; it can be used in pipes and call other tools.
Python Audio Tools is a collection of audio handling programs that work from the command line. These include programs for CD extraction, track conversion from one audio format to another, track renaming and retagging, track identification, CD burning from tracks, and more. It supports internationalized track filenames and metadata using Unicode. It works with high-definition, multi-channel audio as well as CD-quality. Track conversion uses multiple CPUs or CPU cores if available to greatly speed the transcoding process. Track metadata can be retrieved from MusicBrainz, FreeDB, or compatible servers. Audio formats supported are WAV, FLAC, WavPack, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M4A, Apple Lossless, and more.
Grab&Burn is a powerful tool for grabbing, burning, and mastering of CD and DVD discs. It supports all types of optical storage media (including CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and DVD-RAM) as well as a wide variety of burning hardware. You can perform ordinal grabbing, copying, and burning operations as well as expert DVD authoring and mastering. mkcdtoc is a small and flexible command line utility to create TOC files for cdrdao. It reads a list of audio files and outputs a TOC file with a track specification for each audio file. Input data can be a raw list with one file name on each line, or an m3u play list. The program has a modular architecture and can be extended via plugins. The distribution includes a few plugins that can retrieve meta information from audio files to fill CD-TEXT blocks in the generated TOC file. There are plugins to perform audio file to WAVE format conversion.
FUPlayer is a full featured music manager and player for the GNOME desktop. With it, you can play music from your hard drive, create playlists, do real file management using its Trash, and play, rip, and burn audio CDs. It features an interface similar to those of many modern manager-style players, but with many improvements, such as true non-modal search and browse functionality, find-as-you-type, and drag destination highlighting. It aims to be extremely user friendly and efficient to use.
NeroLINUX is flexible graphical application to assist in burning writable CDs and DVDs in many formats. It supports all types of internal and external recorders that are supported by the API of the established Nero application for Windows. It features kernel optimizations for both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels, digital audio extraction, FreeDB support, and USB hotplugging. Video editing capabilities are not yet included.
