RipOff is a GTK+ based CD ripper for Linux (and hopefully for other Unix systems once some testing and fixing have been done) that has a simple interface, CDDB lookups, and a plugin-based encoder architecture. It attempts to appeal to those users who want a non-GNOME dependent CD ripper with a simple interface, or users who just don't like the interfaces of the other GTK+ CD rippers.

mp3Rip is yet another MP3 ripper. This one requires very little user intervention--you just have to insert the CD and start the program. It rips the songs as quickly as possible so another CD can be started while other CDs are being compressed. It also organizes MP3s using CDDB information, and it can recover from errors with minimal wasted effort.

Apetag is command line tagging tool for multimedia files such as Monkey's Audio and Musepack that use the APE 2.0 standard. It also comes with a script, tagdir, that will tag all the tracks in an album by invoking apetag or other similar tools (e.g. metaflac) for each track.
