The Music Control Center can help you organize your existing sound file collection and walk you through the process of ripping backup copies of your CDs, moving the newly-created sound files to the correct location, and updating the database appropriately. It allows you to create playlists on-the-fly, save them, and load them for playback at a later date. CDDBD.sh is a shellscript speaking the CDDB Protocol version 1 without enhancements and read only. CDDBD.sh allows to query a local database on a filesystem that was filled with entries using such programs like xmcd or kscd. CDDBD.sh was developed to be used in a local or home network and not to serve a WAN.
