PLD Live CD is a bootable CD that contains a live Linux distribution based on the PLD Linux distribution. It uses squashfs transparent compression to fit huge amount of packages on a single CD, including OpenOffice, KDE, Gnome, WindowMaker, XFCE, and many more. It also includes a set of scripts for detecting hardware such SCSI, IDE, monitors, and sound, graphic, and network cards. It also supports 'profiles' that let you store your settings on a floppy.
MBCD (MultiBootCD) is a shell script to make a customized CD-ROM that can boot any kind and any number of image files. Currently, 4 types of images are supported: floppy images (1.2M, 1.44M, or 2.88M), Knoppix-like images, kernel-binary images (e.g. memtest86), and the Windows XP Recovery Console.
StreamBOX-LiveCD is a KNOPPIX-based boot CD which is specially designed to stream MP3s. It also includes some programs to stream in the Ogg Vorbis format, to cut audio, to view video and video streams, and to perform other similar tasks. It is intended to be used at smaller radio stations.
The Public IP ZoneCD has been created to help implement safe, free, wifi hotspots. NoCat dynamic firewall rules are used for user access and authentication. A transparent proxy sends all "Public" requests from NoCat through a content filter (Dansguardian) to block porn, hacker sites, extreme violence, illegal drugs, and other obscene and explicit Web sites. The content filter also blocks files extensions to protect your network from viruses, and restricts file sizes to save bandwidth.
redWall is a bootable CD-ROM firewall which focuses on Web-based reporting of the firewall's status. It includes Snort, snortsam, dansguardian, and support for fwbuilder, squidguard, reporting (using BASE/sarg/ntop/webfwlog), VPN (Openswan/PoPToP/Openvpn), Spam Filtering (spamassassin, dcc, razor2, clamav, amavis-new, dspam and maia mailguard), and mail-based, alerting. Configuration data are stored on a floppy or USB disk.
GNUSTEP Live CD contains a lot of software for GNUstep, a free implementation of the OPENSTEP framework (which is also directly used in Mac OS X as Cocoa). It includes excellent applications for RAD (GORM and ProjectCenter). The CD is available for i486, AMD64, Apple Mac PowerPC, and Sun UltraSPARC computers.
