Jack is a console based cd-ripper. It supports cdparanoia and cdda2wav (amongst others) for extraction and various MP3 and OGG/Vorbis encoders; you can even rip from a cdrdao-generated CD image. Emphasis is on failure-safeness and ease of use. Jack can encode multiple tracks at once, good on SMP systems. It can resume its work if interrupted and keeps an eye on available HD space. Freedb query is also supported, any time you like, even after encoding. Jack can try to query freedb for MP3s of which you do not know the CD anymore, provided you have a complete rip and know the track sequence.
Cue2toc is a free program for UNIX systems to convert CUE files to cdrdao's TOC format. Its features include support for the complete set of CUE commands (such as catalog number, data and audio tracks, ISRC codes, CD-Text, Pre-/Postgaps with zero data or data from file, and subindexes), automatic determination of session type, and conversion of data files with user configurable commands based on file name extension matching.
libburnia is a project comprised of libraries and binaries for reading, mastering, and writing optical discs. It provides libburn, a CD/DVD/BD burn library, libisofs, a manipulation library for ISO 9660 filesystems, and libisoburn, a ISO 9660 multi-session library. On top of them there is cdrskin, a cdrecord emulator, and xorriso, a all-in-one application for ISO 9660 multi-session operations which additionaly provides a limited emulation of mkisofs.
m3u2toc is a script which creates a CD-Text enabled cdrdao TOC file from a XMMS MP3 playlist. For those who backup MP3s as CD audio and want CD-Text data, this script takes the pain out of manually preparing a TOC file with CD-Text author and title data by extracting that info from MP3 ID3 tags.
make_cd_label is a script that helps create stickers for CDs. It is intended to be integrated with your backup scripts, but can also make stickers for audio CDs using CDDB and disc-cover. The output is an XML file that can be read into glabels and then edited or printed. It uses Memorex or Avery CD label stickers.
mkat is a set of command line tools for burning and cataloging data CD/DVD/BD and audio CDs. The catalog can later be searched for certain files or an audio CD. Tags can be used to categorize CD/DVD/BDs, e.g. comedy, drama, kids, sports. mkat is configured to use wodim/growisofs and genisoimage to do the real work, but it should be possible to configure it to use arbitrary programs.
mkcdtoc is a small and flexible command line utility to create TOC files for cdrdao. It reads a list of audio files and outputs a TOC file with a track specification for each audio file. Input data can be a raw list with one file name on each line, or an m3u play list. The program has a modular architecture and can be extended via plugins. The distribution includes a few plugins that can retrieve meta information from audio files to fill CD-TEXT blocks in the generated TOC file. There are plugins to perform audio file to WAVE format conversion.
mp3Rip is yet another MP3 ripper. This one requires very little user intervention--you just have to insert the CD and start the program. It rips the songs as quickly as possible so another CD can be started while other CDs are being compressed. It also organizes MP3s using CDDB information, and it can recover from errors with minimal wasted effort.
