To implement constant throughput and to avoid frame loss delays, triple buffering is used through local buffer copying in a separate grabbing thread. The many demo and utility programs included can display live video to X, convert live video to ASCII, smoothly zoom live-video (using Glide), do some image processing (using MMX), and provide a stand-alone webcam image server.

mgadvd is a Matrox G200/Zoran 36700 hardware MPEG decoder driver for Linux. It allows you to play MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and DVD streams through the Zoran 36700 Vaddis III decoder (connected to the G200) with very low CPU usage. Supported DVD audio formats are AC3 (Dolby Digital) and PCM. Included is a player app called mzplay that plays DVD directly from the disc as well as MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video and audio (Layer II only) files.

Albums can be created using the included Web-based adiminstration tool or by creating a directory and copying your pictures and files to that directory. A Web administration interface is available to help add descriptions, rename images, rotate images (losslessly), and more.
