A.M.I.C.U.S. (Automatic Multimedia Installation Configuration Utility System) helps users quickly and easily install and configure MythTV on generic PC hardware. It uses the Debian Netinst CD to install GNU/Linux and just the required packages to allow a functional MythTV on low end hardware.
AVChat is audio and video chat software based on Flash Communication Server with an easy to use interface. It supports real time audio/video communication with bandwidth control and automatic webcam and microphone detection, enhanced text chat with a language filter and bold/italic/color options, a users list with genre/camera/admin icons, private and public rooms, an admin section with log review and ban/kick by IP, a nick filter, and support for free and premium users. A PHP file is used for configuration options. Flash Communication Server is used for the text/audio/video streams.
Axmjpeg retrieves JPEG images from an MJPEG over HTTP stream that conforms to the "Axis Video API, HTTP Interface Specification." Each captured JPEG image may be written to a file or piped through to a shell command for further processing. It also supports time-based retrieval, where one image per specified interval is captured.
The Java Media Framework (JMF) is an API for incorporating audio, video, and other time-based media into Java applications and applets. It is an optional package that extends the multimedia capabilities on the Java2 platform. The Blackdown JMF is a Performace Pack which includes native code in order to provide faster processing and tighter integration with Linux than the all-Java version.
The main goal of the Cognitive Vision project is to improve the results of artificial intelligence. The current scope is to equip the abilities of the AIBO (robot dog of the Sony) to explore its environment and to recognize the local position (e.g. navigation in a room). The first trial is to use and develop image processing methods with a single webcam and to apply these techniques with AIBO.
