mod_rangelimit aims to provide protection from DoS attacks using the Range header in Apache. It does so by analyzing the ranges supplied in the Range header. It checks the headers before mod_setenvif, and if there is even one invalid range in the request, the whole request is declined. The module also checks the number of supplied ranges and the number of overlapping ranges. It provides two options, MaxRanges (defaulting to 20) and MaxOverlappingRanges (defaulting to 5).
mod_ipblock aims to provide protection from aggressive clients by blocking or reporting them with a script. Users can set a limit to simultaneous connections. When this limit is reached, the module will execute the defined command. You can then write a simple bash script which can run commands with sudo(8) in order to limit the client or notify the admins.
MrsWatson is a commandline audio plugin host. It takes one or more plugins, sends an audio signal to them for processing, and saves the resulting output. Although the plugins think they are running in realtime, processing is actually done offline (this is not the same as the "offline" processing in VST terminology). This makes MrsWatson ideal for developing or debugging plugins, or processing audio on a server.
Gibbon is a graphical client for playing backgammon online on the First Internet Backgammon Server or servers that use the FIBS protocol. QoSDB is a QoS registry designed for supporting QoS management in realtime SOAs. It can be exploited for gathering QoS data related to different functional behaviors of the application (application operating modes) and for predicting future performance based on historical data. A modular architecture allows for defining various models for the prediction of resource requirements under a set of conditions which has not been observed yet. This allows for achieving nearly-correct resource allocation (self-configuration) for the application with a great reduction of needed observation/benchmarking points, especially in those contexts in which the space of possible configuration parameters is big (e.g., multimedia applications supporting arbitrary resolutions). By leveraging the QoSDB, SOAs can be built with auto-tuning capabilities, for better exploitation of internal resources while guaranteeing the QoS required by users.
mod_pLua is an Apache HTTP Server 2.x module for developing Web applications with Lua. With mod_pLua, you can use Lua for scripting in two distinct ways; Embedded Lua scripting, <?lua print("Hello, world!") ?>, or plain Lua scripting with a CGI-style interface. mod_pLua precompiles all scripts and caches the compiled binary code so that each new call to the same file will be lightning fast, allowing you to serve hundreds of thousands of requests per minute on any modern server. Mod_pLua supports both the traditional Lua interpreter as well as LuaJIT for both Windows and UNIX platforms. If your Web server supports it, mod_pLua also utilizes APR_DBD and mod_dbd to handle persistent database connections through the dbopen() Lua function.
