Dbiff attempts to provide email notification in a form similar to biff+comsat, but without the need for a comsat daemon. Rather, a copy of each email is filtered through the dbiff program using a mail delivery agent such as procmail, and dbiff then displays a summary of the message on each of the user's terminals that has the executable bit set. dbiff can also provide a condensed format similar to that used by djb's qbiff, and a bell mode like that available in FreeBSD. The bell mode is accessible either by setting a terminal's group executable bit ('biff b' in FreeBSD) or by using a flag in the dbiff command. An option is also available to write the email message only to the most recently used terminal.
OpenDD is a DynDNS client, written in C, and especially designed for small gateway machines, like a Soekris box. Its main feature is that it does not require any Perl or Python interpreter. It supports HTTPS, can send a mail report, and can run as daemon. It is also very easy to deploy.
SpadFS is an attempt to combine features of advanced filesystems (crash recovery, fast directories, etc.) and good performance without increasing code complexity too much. It uses crash counts instead of journaling (because journaling is too complex and bug-prone), and uses hash instead of btrees for directory organization.
GGobi is a visualization program for exploring high-dimensional data. It provides highly dynamic and interactive graphics such as tours, as well as familiar graphics such as the scatterplot, barchart, and parallel coordinates plots. Plots are interactive and linked with brushing and identification.
scanmem is a simple interactive debugging utility for Linux that can be used to locate the address of a variable in an executing program. scanmem can then be used to modify the variable once, or continually over a period of time. It is similar to the "pokefinders" used to cheat at video games.
Schrödinger is an implementation of the Dirac video codec, a modern wavelet-based video codec. It features both an encoder and a decoder and GStreamer plugins. Mappings have also been developed for putting Dirac into both the Ogg container format and the MPEG Transport stream container format.
