Diskus is a high-level hard drive diagnostic and limited repair tool. It checks the disk geometry by writing numbered IDs into the sectors of the hard drive. Later one can verify that these sector-IDs on the disk are still correct, thereby detecting data which was not correctly written. There is an option to "freshen" the data on your harddrive, which will read and rewrite the sectors. With modern drives this will re-map defective sectors.
md5chk is a tool for creating MD5 sums. It was designed so that its output would be easy to use with command line shells. It guarantees that the MD5 sum is always "clean" of characters that would be misinterpreted by the shell and that special characters in the file names are always properly escaped.
mod_gfx is a configurable Apache module that uses libgd to perform image operations on the fly. Some of the supported image operations are: resize, resample, watermark, and crop. A couple of its special features are origin selection via URI regex and round-robin over a list of hosts.
Memo is a recursive acronym standing for Memo Enables Memory Optimisation. Memo's purpose is enhancing its user's ability to remember foreign words and phrases by regular repetition of a properly chosen material. Memo can be used to regularly send email messages containing packs of words or phrases to be translated by the receiver. The user replies to the mail by filling in the answers. Memo parses the reply and updates its internal database with the user's results. Sets of questions for every test are chosen based on the user's performance in previous tests -- the words that are most difficult for the user are sent more frequently.
tunerlimit is a preload library that allows some fine-tuning of when calls to setrlimit(2) are allowed, and when they are "blocked". This can be useful in situations where, for example, SELinux policies cause programs to fail completely when making trivial or idempotent calls to setrlimit().
Musca is a simple window manager for X allowing both tiling and stacking modes. It is similar to ratpoison but more friendly to the mouse and using a simpler keyboard navigation. There are no built in status bars, panels, or window decorations save for thin window borders to indicate focus. Window navigation can be mouse click to focus or entirely keyboard driven. Window tiling is manual but simple, and there are no restrictions on how you divide up the screen. It uses dwm's dmenu utility for launching apps and running various built in commands not mapped to hot keys.
