white_dune is a graphical VRML97/X3DV editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller, animation tool, and VRML97/X3DV commandline compiler in development. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). X3DV is the direct successor of VRML97. VRML97 and X3DV have support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds). white_dune can read, create, and display VRML97/X3DV files and let the user change the scenegraph/fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer"-capable stereo visuals, and support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.
Gwyddion is a modular SPM (Scanning Probe Microsope) data visualization and analysis tool. It can be used for all most frequently used data processing operations including: leveling, false color plotting, shading, filtering, denoising, data editing, integral transforms, grain analysis, profile extraction, fractal analysis, and many more. The program is primarily focused on SPM data analysis (e.g. data obtained from AFM, STM, NSOM, and similar microscopes). However, it can also be used for analyzing SEM (scaning electron microscopy) data or any other 2D data.
Ch is an embeddable C/C++ interpreter for cross-platform scripting, shell programming, 2D/3D plotting, numerical computing, and embedded scripting. It is the simplest solution to numerical computing and visualization in the domain of C/C++. It supports the ISO 1990 C Standard (C90), major features in C99 (complex numbers, variable length arrays or VLAs, type generic functions, long long data type, etc), classes in C++, and extensions to the C language like nested functions, string types, etc. It can be embedded in other applications and hardware and used as a scripting language. C/C++ code is interpreted directly with no compilation to intermediate code. It supports Linux, Windows, MacOS X, Solaris, HP-UX, and FreeBSD.
RHEED for Linux is designed to aquire data from RHEED (Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction) images in Molecular Beam Epitaxy and for controlling an electron beam gun. It is possible to determine growth rate of a semiconductor crystal from RHEED-Oscillations, to aquire Lines Of Interest (LOIs) in realtime, and develop incident angle dependent intensity curves. The Electron Beam Gun EK35BR from Staib Instruments is supported.

It simplifies the task of writing software that deals with FITS files by providing an easy to use set of high-level routines that insulate the programmer from the internal complexities of the FITS file format.
Penacho is a simulation software that calculates and draws the gas dispersion of a smokestack in the atmosphere. It consists of a GUI to enter air conditions, an atmospheric dispersion modeling solver, and an interactive 3D graphics engine. Penacho draws the plume evolution, the particles' deposition and the pollutant concentration distribution, as an isosurface and a grid plane for each coordinate axis. Penacho exports its simulation results as a text file, VTK structured points, or CSV (suitable for spreadsheets).
