A permission system also makes it useful as a help-desk application, bug-tracking database, or documentation system.

Fcron is a periodical command scheduler which aims at replacing vixie cron, so it implements most of its functionality. It does not assume that your system is running either all the time or regularly: you can, for instance, tell fcron to execute tasks every x hours y minutes of system uptime or to do a job only once in a specified interval of time. You can also set a nice value to a job, run it depending on the system load average, and much more.

feh is a fast, lightweight image viewer that uses imlib2. It is command line-driven and supports multiple images through slideshows, thumbnail browsing or multiple windows, and montages or index prints using TrueType fonts to display file information. Advanced features include fast dynamic zooming, progressive loading, loading via HTTP (with reload support for watching webcams), recursive file opening (slideshow of a directory hierarchy), and mouse wheel and keyboard control.

FIDOGATE is a Fido-Internet gateway and a Fido tosser. The gateway converts between the worlds of Fido NetMail/EchoMail (or FTNs, Fido Technology Networks in general) and the UNIX mail/news system. FIDOGATE will convert Fido mail packets to RFC822/1036-style messages and vice versa.

It helps users maintain a database of objects and allows policy editing using simple drag-and-drop operations. fistgen is the FiST language code generator, used to create stackable file systems out of templates and a high-level language. This package comes with stackable file system templates for Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD. Freeciv is a multiuser reimplementation for Unix/X of the famous Microprose game of Civilization. By default, the game is an improved Civ II, but this can be customized; modpacks for near-100% compatibility with Civ I and Civ II are included. Multiuser gameplay is real-time: in each turn, all human players move concurrently. The game is designed to remain fairly playable even on poor network connections. Freeciv can also be played on standalone machines, and its AI players are a good challenge for beginners. The source code comes with the server, two X clients, and non-X clients for MS Windows and Amiga. Freeciv is released under the GNU General Public License. It is maintained by an international team of coders and enthusiasts, and is easily one of the most fun and addictive network games out there.

freesweep is a console minesweeper-style game written in C for *nix. The ncurses library is preferred, but standard System V curses will work almost perfectly. Features include boards up to 1024x1024 and saving & loading of boards. Planned features include mouse support through ncurses, shared and individual "best times" files, and color.
