freeDiameter is a framework in C for supporting the Diameter Base Protocol (RFC3588). Diameter is a protocol for authentication, authorization, and accounting; it is the successor of RADIUS. Applications can be loaded as modules. Example applications include a Diameter EAP server, a Diameter SIP server, and Diameter Accounting.
Gossimon is a gossip-based distributed monitoring system for a cluster of Linux nodes. Each node in the cluster periodically send information about itself and others to a randomly selected node. This way, each node constantly receives information about cluster nodes. This information is locally maintained (constantly updated) by each node and can be used by various clients for monitoring and resource allocation. The gossip protocols used by gossimon are very robust to node failure, and the information quality is hardly degraded even when large parts of the cluster are taken down. The package contains: infod (the daemon responsible for collecting and sending information for other nodes); mmon (a curses-based monitoring client displaying information about cluster nodes); and infod-client (a command-line client that retrieves cluster information in XML format).
IgnoFlash is a patch that modifies the Adobe Flash Player plugins for Netscape and ActiveX to keep them in fullscreen when focus is lost. It makes it possible to operate another application when watching Flash video in fullscreen on a multi-monitor setup. You can still close fullscreen with the usual methods (Escape key, UI elements). This patch has been tested with Flash Player versions 10.0 and 10.1 in Opera, Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. It might also work for previous and future versions.
musutil includes several utilities for working with a music collection. The principle one is musview, which generates a number of "Views". Each View, analogous to a database view, is an alternative presenation of the original files. The View can selectively include only some files (based on their properties) or have files processed into into a different format, with audio filters applied, adjusted tag data, or a different filename.
JGame Flash is an ActionScript 3 port of the JGame 3.5 API. It can be compiled with the free Flex toolkit. A Java-AS3 translator is included to make porting games easier. The goal of this project is to eventually enable JGame Java games to be converted (partially) automatically to ActionScript 3. JGame Flash works on Android Flash 10.1 and supports accelerometer input.
claws-mail-indicator is a simple plug-in which adds support to Claws Mail for the Ubuntu indicators. Notifications are displayed in the Messaging menu, with the option to display a notification bubble each time new messages arrive. It was developed and tested on Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) 64-bit.
otonat is a 1:1 NAT implementation for FreeBSD. Unlike other solutions that keep state for individual user connections even for 1:1 NAT, otonat is completely stateless as far as user connections are concerned. This allows it to scale much better and provide protection against misbehaving clients that may consume a lot of server memory by opening too many connections.
itch41 parses a file of level 3 NASDAQ stock exchange data, such as ftp://emi.nasdaq.com/ITCH/S030711-v41.txt.gz. This is mainly for demonstration purposes, lacking column domains, column constraints, data validation, timestamp calculations, stock symbol lookup for execution/cancel/delete messages, derived columns (e.g. for partitioning), and the general kinds of pre-processing one would expect from a production tick data loader.
