NNTPSwitch is a Linux NNTP content router. It's aimed at high-performance news servers for ISPs and Usenet resellers. NNTPSwitch forwards client connections to multiple backend servers to get its actual articles. Depending on the backend server type, all NNTP commands and extensions are supported, including (remote) authorization. Accounting is supported in a user-friendly matter for data limited NNTP connections.

The d command runs a command in the background and redirects its output to a file. The output file is annotated with start and end time, the actual command used, cwd, host, etc. You can ask the d command to extract the last command from the output file and run it again, you can ask it to append to the file or not, and other goodies. It comes with handy little programs to look at the output, tail it, etc. It is sort of trivial, but has been streamlined over many years.

Zipeg is free utility that opens and explores the contents of zip, rar, arj, and other archives. It can preview files and images before you extract them, and lets you extract only the files you want. Many documents and pictures can be emailed as zip archives.
