UFOClock draws an astronomical clock. From it you can read the time of day, phase of the lunar month, ratio of day to night, time until a solstice or equinox, and time until the end or beginning of twilight. The time of day depends on your location on the surface of the Earth, which you can enter on the command line or in a dotfile in your home directory. Location can be given as latitude/longitude or ZIP code. It is called UFO clock because it sort of looks like crop circles. It is based on Sundial by George Williams. It requires GLUT installed to run and the NOVAS library to build.
Evolving Games for Unnatural Intelligence is a Java package for unsupervised machine learning based on Evolutionary Game Theory on directed graphs. It is able to segment data without any previuos information on the number of segments. It has no GUI, but implements generalizations of the original method proposed by Li, Chen, He and Jiang in the arxiv paper "A Novel Clustering Algorithm Based Upon Games on Evolving Network", published on 30 Dec 2008.
Chebfun is a collection of algorithms and a software system in object-oriented MATLAB that extends familiar powerful methods of numerical computation involving numbers to continuous or piecewise-continuous functions. It also implements continuous analogues of linear algebra notions like the QR decomposition and the SVD, and solves ordinary differential equations. The mathematical basis of the system combines tools of Chebyshev expansions, fast Fourier transform, barycentric interpolation, recursive zerofinding, and automatic differentiation.
BRL-CAD is a powerful constructive solid geometry solid modeling system that includes an interactive geometry editor, ray-tracing support for rendering and geometric analysis, path-tracing for realistic image synthesis, network distributed framebuffer support, and image and signal-processing tools.
Sfront compiles MPEG 4 Structured Audio (MP4-SA) programs into efficient C programs that generate audio when executed. MP4-SA is a standard for normative algorithmic sound, which combines an audio signal processing language (SAOL) with score languages (MIDI and SASL). Under Mac OS X and Linux, sfront supports real-time, low-latency audio input/output and MIDI input. Under Mac OS X, sfront supports the creation of AudioUnit plug-ins. The documentation includes a book about SAOL programming.
Libpointmatcher is a modular "Iterative Closest Point" library, useful for robotics and computer vision. This library is designed with modularity and performance in mind. It provides building blocks to construct various ICP chains often seen in research. These chains can be tuned without any recompilation, and new modules can be added without modifying the core of the library.
