Evas is a canvas library, designed to work with the X Window System. It is designed to be able to take advantage of any graphics hardware or CPU processing power you may have, or to adjust for the lack of it. It has a simplistic API to access the features of a canvas to aid in making development using Evas easy.
feh is a fast, lightweight image viewer that uses imlib2. It is command line-driven and supports multiple images through slideshows, thumbnail browsing or multiple windows, and montages or index prints using TrueType fonts to display file information. Advanced features include fast dynamic zooming, progressive loading, loading via HTTP (with reload support for watching webcams), recursive file opening (slideshow of a directory hierarchy), and mouse wheel and keyboard control.
Geist is an object-based image editor, designed to be used in conjunction with the GIMP. While the GIMP specializes in pixel editing, geist deals with objects. Geist's specialties are antialiased truetype fonts and a full RGBA colorspace with transparent objects blended quickly in realtime. Supported objects are lines, text (with wordwrapping and font styles), rectangles, images (zoomed or scaled with or without antialiasing), and polygons. Geist saves documents in XML, and can export to all image formats supported by imlib2.
Gifsicle is a powerful command-line program for manipulating GIF image files. It has good support for transparency and colormap manipulation, simple image transformations (cropping, flipping), and creating, deconstructing, and editing GIF animations. It can also optimize GIF animations for space. Also included is a GIF animation viewer and a program that checks whether two GIFs look the same.
ICCLIB implements support for reading and writing of color profile files that conform to the International Color Consortium (ICC) Profile Format Specification, Version 3.4. The ICC Profile Format is a cross-platform device profile format that can be used to translate color data created on one device into another device's native color space. See the profile specification at color.org. In summary ICCLIB provides support for all version 3.4 header elements, Tags, and Tag Types, conversion to/from machine native representation of all data types, user-defined Tags, adding/deleting Tags, Tag type sharing within a file (often used for sharing LUTs amongst intents), reading/writing embedded profiles, a single function for transforming color values through a profile (including support for intents, forward and reverse transforms, gamut lookup or preview lookup), support and code examples for creating all profile types, monochrome, matrix, and Lut, and it loads Tag Types on demand to conserve memory space.
IDS is a CGI written in Perl that generates a multi-gallery photo album Web site on the fly. All you need to provide are the images and (optionally) descriptions. Features include support for internationalization, user interface themes, thumbnail generation for JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and GIF images, and the display of whatever other file types you choose. If you allow them to do so, guests can leave comments and order prints. Your files are searchable by name and description, and can be managed via a Web-based administrative interface.
Java PictDraw is a set of Java classes to display Quickdraw images (Macintosh Pict files). Quickdraw is a meta/vector format that supports lines, circles, arcs, boxes, polygon, styled text, bitmap-based regions, and compressed bitmaps (RLE and JPEG). This package contains all the classes needed to parse a Quickdraw file, and to display into a Java AWT port. Features include the ability to make the text regions of the picture clickable.
