SQLScreens is a simple relational database screen form generator written in TCL/TK. It will let you create query screens very quickly by specifying what data (tables and columns) you want to see and what operations should be allowed (query/update, etc.). It will take care of creating the user interface and the behind-the-scenes SQL. SQLScreens can be used with different backend database systems, and includes direct support for MySQL, SQLite, and INFORMIX, and ODBC for others.
Sirix is a versioned tree-based storage system. It provides Snapshot Isolation through MVCC and is best suited for flash-based storage. The tree encoding is suited for heavy update operations. It provides diffing algorithms either to import diffs between currently shredded (imported) XML documents to update a tree structure or to get the differences between versions of a tree structure. A GUI provides several visualizations for comparing imported tree structures.
SwingSet is an Java toolkit that contains data-aware replacements for many of the standard Java Swing components. It currently includes replacements for JTextField, JTextArea, JComboBox, JCheckBox, JSlider, and JLabel. There is also an image component, a graphical record navigator, and a data grid component. All of the primary components are available as JavaBeans.
Metabase is a DBMS-independent PHP API to access SQL databases. It supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Access, ODBC, Interbase, Informix, MiniSQL, and SQLite. It supports nested transactions, blobs, and prepared queries. It can install database schemas defined in a DBMS independent XML format that describe tables, indexes, primary keys, and auto-increment sequences. It is also able to upgrade a database to a new schema without affecting the data that was stored since it was installed or upgraded for the last time. There is also schema reverse engineering support.
PACT is a self-contained set of tools which support developing and using portable programs, particularly scientific and engineering applications. By defining a single, higher level, standard programming interface, it shields application developers from the plethora of different hardware architectures and operating systems and their non-standard features.
Database Abstraction Layer is a project to produce a general way to access databases from within PHP. The DAL class takes care of the administration involved with the different kinds of databases. DAL is extendible via plugins so support for different dbms' can be added dynamicly. Also switching from one DBMS to another is simple because not very much has to be altered to support the new DBMS.
