Sandbox is a personal Web site package that provides you with a blog, image gallery, file download area, and the ability to create miscellaneous custom Web pages. Many other blog/Web site packages like Wordpress only do one thing. Most blog packages do not also provide a good image gallery or a good downloads module. You can get these things in separate packages, but integrating them into one site is difficult, involving code bridges and incompatible skinning systems. Sandbox aims to have all of these things integrated into one package.
So called "me" links are a way to connect your different social network profile pages together so that services like Google's Social Graph will identify them as belonging to the same person. Adding "me" links from your blog to all your profile pages makes your blog a well connected hub in your piece of the 'net. melinks is a PyBlosxom plugin that adds a $melinks template variable.
StupidZombie is a tool that can be used to "ping" several directories to notify then about a blog update. It does not need to be run from a Web page like Blogger or Wordpress. You can run StupidZombie from a cron job or using Java WebStart. Also, StupidZombie has a simple tag generator from directories that support it.
Banjo is a blogging application with bells and whistles, written using the Django framework. It supports caching and skinning. It is suitable for any blog, but is most appropriate for integration into an existing Django application, such as a Satchmo store or a forum. It supports multiple blogs from one installation, each with their own skin. The blogs can be served from unique domain names, from subdirectories, or from subdomains with equal ease, without special configuration. Trackback and Pingback are supported and you can use standard blogging tools such as Ecto, Mars Edit, or ScribeFire to post to the blog.

TurnKey Movable Type Appliance is a server appliance for the Movable Type content publishing system. It includes support for multiple weblogs, landing pages, categories and sub-categories, tags, and an integrated file manager. It is designed to be easy to use and easy to maintain. Security patches are automatically installed. It provides a Web management interface, configuration console, and an AJAX Web shell. To minimize footprint the appliance is built from the ground up with the minimum required components. It runs everywhere thanks to multiple build formats, including an installable live CD, a VMDK with OVF support, and an Amazon EC2 AMI.
