Kobldes makes it possible for the designer to model building information and uses POV-Ray for visualization. It is also programmed using the POV-Ray screen description language (SDL). The goal of is to create a fully functioning building information modeling and management tool for designing buildings. It currently allows the designer to accomplish basic tasks with building components such as building levels and spaces in the process of solving design problems. In the near future, it will compute and make available information about the building such as sizes/volumes (such as an area for painting in a particular room), requirement checks (e.g. spatial conformance), and Property checks (e.g. calculating the solar savings factor).

The Building Information Model server (BIMserver) software enables you to host your own BIMserver to centralize the information of any construction (or other building related) project. The core is based on the open standard IFC and therefore knows how to handle IFC data. The BIMserver is nót a fileserver; IFC data are interpreted by a smart EMF e-core and stored in an underlying key-valuestore database (Berkeley). CMDBuild (Configuration and Management Data Base) is a fully configurable Web application for managing asset lifecycles. It includes workflow, report, dashboard, attachment archiving, and georeference functions. It supports the management of hardware devices (client and server computers, peripheral devices, network and phone equipment), software (basic, environment, application), services, and documents (contracts, manuals). However it can be used as a standard asset management system (real estate, inventory, maintenance process, etc). It is also a framework suitable for applications that manage office business using workflows.
