MUSCLE (Multi User Server Client Linking Environment) is an N-way messaging server and networking API. It includes client-side networking APIs for various languages, including C, C++, C#, Delphi, Java, and Python. MUSCLE lets programs communicate over a network via streams of serialized Message objects. The included server program ("muscled") lets its clients message each other and store information in its server-side hierarchical database. The database supports flexible queries via hierarchical wildcarding, and "live" updates via a subscription mechanism.
Artekopia Netjuke is a cross-platform Web-based audio streaming jukebox powered by PHP 4 and an increasing choice of databases. MP3, Ogg Vorbis, ASF/WMA, and other music file formats are supported. xplain2sql converts files from Xplain to SQL. It supports a very large subset of Xplain, and it can convert from Xplain to Microsoft SQL Server, DB/2, Inprise InterBase, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL 5, SQLite 3 or ANSI-92 SQL. It can also generate an XML description of the generated SQL. This XML description can be used to create low-level middle-tier code. Example stylesheets for Eiffel/ECLI and Delphi/ADO are included. The C source code release should compile on any platform with an ANSI C compiler. There are binary releases for FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris x86, and Windows 2000.
Open Simp-X is a powerful Internet platform for everyone, attempting to change programming for the Internet with sharing database information. It strives for scalablility, reliability, and ease of use. The platform consists of a client/server pair. Security is a top priority, and data transfers are encrypted. Open Simp-X achieves scalability through plugins. Plugins can collect information, manipulate it, and send it back to the database. Writing plugins is easy since they do not have to worry about how to send or receive their information, and can focus on manipulating it. Open Simp-X can be set up to retreive data through a LAN or through a Web server.
ZooLib allows one to write a single set of C++ sources which can be compiled into native executables for Mac OS, Windows, BeOS, or POSIX-compliant systems that use the X Window system (such as Linux). Zoolib provides a GUI toolkit with a uniquely flexible layout system. It also provides a single-file database format, TCP networking, and extensive debugging support. ZooLib applications are multithreaded. ZooLib requires only minimal support from the underlying OS and platform GUI layer, and thus could be ported to a completely new platform without too much difficulty. ZooLib is fully production quality on Windows and MacOS, completely implemented but untested on BeOS, and not yet complete on POSIX. Please note that the sources from the "demo" branch are also required to build ZooLib or to get started writing your own ZooLib applications.
fakedbfs is a suite of tools and a library for cataloguing files. Anything that is a file can be catalogued along with metadata. The metadata is then searchable through various querying facilities. It runs entirely in userland and was inspired by BFS, which doesn't do content indexing, only metadata.
