Paludis is a package manager for Gentoo (and derived distributions) and Exherbo. It consists of a core library and a number of console-based clients. Package formats supported include Gentoo ebuilds and kdebuilds (as defined by the Package Manager Specification), the Exherbo exheres-0 format, and various miscellaneous utility pseudo-formats for managing accounts, unwritten and unavailable packages, and packages for which no package exists.

Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.

Lokiwall is a firewall script for Linux. In addition to the standard function of easily limiting network traffic, it features dual routing (using two Internet connections simultaniously), connection fail-over, load balancing, traffic control, advanced masquerading, advanced DNAT, and advanced marking (to direct specific traffic to a certain interface). The advanced features require some kernel patches. The standard features will work on a default Linux system with iptables and iproute2.

NetAccess is a system for managing the Internet connections for the clients of a small ISP, the computers of a school, the staff of an office, etc. It is made up of a Linux system that is configured to be gateway/router for a LAN of client computers. The configuration of this gateway box is done by some network scripts, and it can be managed through a Web application that is installed in it. The administrator can also use this Web application to allow or disallow the clients to access the Internet.
