VMware ESX VCB Backup is a script that makes it possible to back up VMs automatically using different schedules. The backup is set up using key words in the VMs annotations. A backup can be made just once or on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The grace period of the backups can be set to whatever your storage capacity allows. The script is run through cron or manually. The backup script comes with a restore script that provides a small menu to make restoring a backed up VM quite easy.
eSMSd is a simple daemon for connecting a Gnokii-handled mobile phone with SQL database into a SMS gateway. It bears great simplicity, and is therefore suitable for custom projects and smaller businesses, but is still powerful enough to handle larger loads. The project is intended as a replacement for Gnokii's SMSd, but is much simpler (therefore great for hacking, learning, and SMS magic) and also a little more portable (SMSd tends to crash on AMD-64).
Unmount Daemon for Fedora automatically unmounts the removable media that Fedora automatically mounts, such as CDs, DVDs, and USB disks. The daemon periodically scans for mounted devices. It ignores the mount points that are listed in /etc/fstab as well as those whose device name does not start with a slash. All other devices are unmounted. The configuration file allows you to set other devices that must not be unmounted by the daemon.
HylaArchive is a real time or cron-based archiving script for HylaFAX. The real time part integrates into the fax receiving function and archives the incoming fax as a PDF file in a date structured directory. The cron-based part does the same but as a cron job rather than in real time.
pwgrep is a simple password manager that manages a database file using encryption of GnuPG. It uses encryption and version control on all of the passwords that are stored. The password database can be used on several hosts at once with automatic synchronization. Even several users can share the same password database. The versioning system will keep track of who was changing which entries and at which time. The versioning system to use can be configured (and is Subversion by default). Besides passwords, pwgrep can also be used for storing a collection of files like certificates. The file shredding command for secure deleting of temporary files can be configured. A local backup of all database changes is automatically made. It can be used without a GUI (such as through an SSH session).
"aura" is a desktop (X root window) background setter. It picks images randomly from specified paths, skipping those that are too small or have inappropriate aspect ratios, and rescales them by cropping solid margins, resizing with cubic interpolation and then the liquid rescale algorithm to fit the desktop with as little quality loss as possible. Images are labelled in the corner using embedded tags. It can changes images on a timed basis or when triggered by SIGHUP or the CLI, and tracks previous and blacklisted images.
