AstroBuffer is a CCD astrophotography image manipulation application. It can open FITS and SBIG (st9) files. Contrast is adjustable to view different backgrounds and ranges of an image. It can scale, shift, rotate, and zoom in and out. Images can be aligned based on two star alignment, and can be summed, subtracted, averaged, and divided. RGB color images can be created from three images. Images can be saved as FITS or as any format that QT supports.
The FLASH code is a modular, adaptive, parallel simulation code capable of handling general compressible flow problems in astrophysical environments. It has been designed to allow users to configure initial and boundary conditions, change algorithms, and add new physical effects with minimal effort. It uses the PARAMESH library to manage a block-structured adaptive grid, placing resolution elements only where they are needed most. It uses the Message-Passing Interface (MPI) library to achieve portability and scalability on a variety of different message-passing parallel computers.
libnova is a general purpose, double precision, celestial mechanics and astronomical calculation library. It can calculate aberration, nutation, apparent position, dynamical time, Julian day, precession, proper motion, sidereal time, solar coordinates (using VSOP87), coordinate transformations, planetary positions (Mercury - Neptune using VSOP87), planetary magnitude, illuminated disk and phase angle, lunar position (using ELP82), phase angle, elliptic motion of bodies (Asteroid + Comet positional and orbit data), asteroid + comet magnitudes, parabolic motion of bodies (comet positional data), orbit velocities and lengths, atmospheric refraction, rise/set/transit times, and semidiameters of the Sun, Moon, planets, and asteroids.
Cactus is a general, modular, parallel environment for solving systems of partial differential equations. The code has been developed over many years by a large international collaboration of numerical relativity and computational science research groups and can be used to provide a portable platform for solving any system of partial differential equations.

SAOimage is a utility for displaying astronomical images under X11. Image files can be read directly, passed through a named pipe under Unix, or from a VMS mailbox from IRAF display tasks. It supports the automating of observation scheduling, identification and photometry of variable stars on CCD images, reporting, management, and verification of results. It uses electronic charts of the variable star fields and maintains a view of the current results in the form of a collection of interlinked Web pages with feedback forms, allowing members of the observer community to participate in locating errors.
