Dexter is a tool that allows users to define extended attributes which can be associated with descriptors and editors. These attributes can be embedded into any well-formed XML document. The resulting embellished document, the 'source', is then input to the dexter engine. This will generate one or more XSLT stylesheets describing the input document interpolating editor modifications and any instructions specified by the descriptors. As dexter's operations are specified exclusively with extended attributes, all but the most unforgiving of XML content viewers will continue to see the decorated source exactly as the designer saw it before.

JavaScript::Squish provides methods to compact Javascript source down to only what is needed. It can remove all comments, put everything on one line (semi-)safely, and remove extra whitespace. It breaks the process down into individual steps, and one can pick and choose what parts to complete to get a custom amount of compactness. It is distributed as a Perl module and a handy bin script (so you don't need to know Perl to use it, but you can do a lot more custom things if you do).

Sman is "The Searcher for Man Pages", an enhanced version of "apropos" and "man -k". It shows results in a ranked order, optionally with a summary of the manpage with the searched text highlighted. Searches may be applied to the manpage section, title, body, or filename. The complete contents of the man page are indexed. A prebuilt index is used to perform fast searches.

HEBCI is a technique that allows a Web form handler to transparently detect the character set with which its data was encoded. By using carefully-chosen character references, the browser's encoding can be inferred. Thus, it is possible to guarantee that data is in a standard encoding without relying on (often unreliable) Web server/browser encoding interactions.

VTAGS is a command line application that will generate a VI(M) compatible tags file for VHDL source files. This application will read standard VHDL'87 files. It should also parse later VHDL, but it only takes account of the basic parts of the language. It will group items that it finds by architecture, procedure, function, or package. It does this by adding extra information to the extension field of the tags file.

DiaNa is a Perl framework designed to process a huge amount of data, performing from very easy to very complex tasks in a very efficient, spreadsheet-like, batch fashion. DiaNa also features an interactive Perl/Tk GUI, layered on the top of several batch shell-scripts. The DiaNa syntax is a very small and orthogonal superset of the underlying Perl syntax, which allows, for example, comfortable addressing of file tokens and profitable use of file formats throughout the data processing.

html2db.xsl converts an XHTML source document into a Docbook output document. It provides features for customizing the generation of the output, so that the output can be tuned by annotating the source, rather than hand-editing the output. This makes it useful in a processing pipeline where the source documents are maintained in HTML, although it can be used as a one-time conversion tool too.
