Agent Farms is a system for modeling and simulation of complex, multi-agent based systems. The system can be used for creating models of multi-agent systems, interactive and distributed simulation, observation and visualisation of the simulation, and population modification and migration. On those models one can learn about the evolution of strategies in the populations of agents.
Genetic Algorithm File Fitter, GAFFitter for short, is a tool based on a genetic algorithm (GA) that tries to fit a collection of items into as few as possible volumes of a specific size. For example, the items might be files/directories and the volumes might be CDs or DVDs. The task of arranging items in such manner that the number of required bins is minimized is called Bin Packing, a NP-hard combinatorial problem for which no deterministic polynomial-time algorithm is known. Using heuristics, such as GAs, it is usually possible to approximate -- and often reach -- the best solution for the problem within a reasonable time.
OneStroke is a gesture-based character input program. Because a tablet PC in tablet mode does not have a keyboard, a software replacement is necessary. OneStroke aims to be a more elegant replacement to the bulky on-screen keyboard. Single-stroke gestures drawn on the main window generate X11 keyboard events in the currently focused window as if typed on the keyboard. Red-Piranha is a search system that can actually learn what you are looking for. It can be used as a Web page, command line, or XML-WebService, so it will work with most languages, including Java, Perl, C#/.NET, and PHP. It includes learning abilities for the Desktop/Internet search functionality. All feedback from the user is stored in (editable) XML and RDF, and is used by the system to improve the quality of searches.
RobotFlow is a mobile robotics tookit based on the FlowDesigner project. FlowDesigner is a data-flow oriented architecture, similar to Simulink (Matlab) or Labview that is free and versatile. The visual programming interface provided in the FlowDesigner project will help people to better visualize & understand what is really happening in the robot's control loops, sensors, actuators, by using graphical probes and debugging in real-time.
