e4Graph is a C++ library that allows programs to store graph-like data persistently and to access and manipulate that data efficiently. With e4Graph, you can arrange your data in the most natural form that reflects the relationships between its parts, rather than having to force it into a table-like format. The e4Graph library also allows you to concentrate on the relationships you want to represent, and not on how to store them in a database. You can modify data items, and add and remove connections and relationships between pieces of data on the fly. e4Graph allows you to represent an unlimited number of different connections between pieces of data, and your program can selectively manipulate the data according to the relationships it cares about, not having to know about other connections represented in the data set.
GTKtalog is an archiver to store a CD file tree structure. It can be used to easily browse a CD-ROM database. The file search module can do searches on filename, foldername with name, category description, date, filesize, and content parameter. Each filetype has its own icon. It possible to use programs like tar, arj, zip, or scripts to extract information from files to include in the database. Gtktalog can mount, scan, umount, and eject a CD-ROM in the background.
JSX serializes Java objects to XML. You can persist objects, evolve them, and send them over the network and between applications. Your object data becomes human-readable and human-writable. You can test it, search it, profile it, audit it, and edit it with ordinary text and XML tools. JSX handles all POJOs and also all classes that require Java's own object serialization.
DSWIM is a powerful informational tool for Debian's packaging system. Designed with an integrated approach it combines the functionality found in several other programs and scripts. MySQL Backup is a Perl script that uses mysqlshow to grab the database names and "show tables" to grab the table names for a user's account, and then uses mysqldump to save the data in a subdirectory named in the script. It then tars and gzips the files, using the date and time for the file name. It can be run from cron on a daily basis. It removes old files and has an option to email the gzip file to an admin, and/or FTP the file to a remote server. It also has options to use "select data into outfile" or a regular "select" for users who can't use mysqldump. It supports LARGE sets of databases and tables.
