AutoArchive is a utility to help create backups more easily. The idea of the program is that all essential information for creating a backup is in a single file. It can use ‘tar’ for creating archives, has a command line interface, and supports incremental backups.

AutoCfgBackup is a platform-independent tool to automatically collect and archive the configuration of network devices like switches and routers. Supported devices include Cisco routers, Extreme network switches, or Zyxels. Almost any network device can be integrated. Configuration is only archived if it has changed. Archives will be created automatically with RCS or a simple rollover scheme.

AutoRPM is a program that can do any combination of the following: mirror RPMs from an FTP site, keep installed RPMs consistent with an FTP site or local directory and keep installed RPMs in a cluster or network of systems consistent. It is highly flexible and contains a fully command-line driven interactive install mode (for installing RPMs from the queue or for installing RPMs from your system interactively). It also handles recursive dependencies, multiple versions of the same RPM, the same RPM with multiple architectures, and more. It does some of the same tasks as up2date and AutoUpdate.

It can be used to automatically download and upgrade RPMs from different HTTP(S) or (S)FTP sites, while also handling dependencies. Moreover, it can also be used to keep a server with a customized (Red Hat) distribution plus all clients up to date.

Bontmia is a network-based backup tool that saves configurable numbers of last month, week, day, hour, and minute backups. Each backup is a complete snapshot of the original directories, and only new and changed files take up space when generating snapshots because of the use of hard links. Remote access is secure by using SSH. Only changes are transferred, which makes for a fast backup.
