The deimos project provides some platform independent libraries which contain a reference memory allocator (garbage collector planned), virtual filesystem (Unix sockets, HTTP, etc), configfile management, and a clean build system (easy makefiles). These libs are used by DDS (Digital Disco System - mp3 player), vmOberon (oberon virtual machine), and ODMS (open document management system).
SiteMesh was built upon the Java Servlet 2.3 API. It is a web-page layout system and web-application integration system to aid in creating large sites consisting of many pages for which a consistent look/feel, navigation, and layout scheme is required. It intercepts requests to any static or dynamically generated HTML page requested through the web-server, parses the page, obtains properties, and data from the content, and generates an appropriate final page with modifications to the original. It is ideally suited for Java based sites (particularly JSP) but can be dropped into any existing site that uses a Servlet engine including static, CGI, PHP, and ColdFusion generated pages.
Mincom Base is the lowest level of the Java code written for Mincom's MineSt*r project. It includes pluggable logging (better than JSR047), resources, pluggable serialisation, and chained exceptions. There are other useful bits, like assertions, a simple and reliable shared buffer, stack trace capture and analysis, and a Map implementation with weak references to values.
Lloyd's Java Shell is a java scripting tool (it could read and execute java-like statement from any input stream) that could easily be plugged into an application and modify its object - so it is also a configuration tool. It is also a good test tool, as you could easily use it to test any feature of your new object.
The Java Media Framework (JMF) is an API for incorporating audio, video, and other time-based media into Java applications and applets. It is an optional package that extends the multimedia capabilities on the Java2 platform. The Blackdown JMF is a Performace Pack which includes native code in order to provide faster processing and tighter integration with Linux than the all-Java version.
RPC::XML is a set of classes in Perl for implementing XML-RPC services both from the client side and the server side. Included are classes for writing clients, writing stand-alone servers (using the HTTP::Daemon class of LWP or the Net::Server class for transport implementation), or implementing a server as an Apache/mod_perl location handler.
openadaptor is a Java/XML-based software platform which allows for rapid business system integration with little or no custom programming. openadaptor can be loosely classified as EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) software. It is highly extensible and provides many ready-built interface components for JMS, Oracle, Sybase, and TIBCO, as well as data exchange formats such as XML.
The Pandora Engine SDK is an object-oriented development toolkit that is specially designed for multi-platform use. It allows you to create truly object-oriented programs without being restricted to object-oriented languages like C++. The environment is fully self-contained, which allows for easier porting, and the inclusion of a commercially developed VESA graphics drivers means that you can create full-screen applications that don't require X11. It is intended for creating both applications and games, and is also required to write programs for Athene, a multi-platform operating system that is based on the engine.
