python-ldap provides an object-oriented API to access LDAP directory servers from Python programs. Mainly, it wraps the OpenLDAP 2.3+ libs for that purpose. Additionally, the package contains modules for other LDAP-related stuff (such as processing LDIF, LDAPURLs, and LDAPv3 schema).
KInterbasDB is a Python extension package that implements Python Database API 2.0-compliant support for the open source relational database Firebird and some versions of its proprietary cousin Borland Interbase. In addition to the minimal feature set of the standard Python DB API, KInterbasDB also exposes nearly the entire native client API of the database engine.
WebPython is a Web-application development toolkit written in the Python programming language. It contains an object relational database layer, portable over MySQL and PostgreSQL; a document templating engine complete with simple built-in automation; and a mechanism to store Python objects in an SQL database, among other features.
GeoTypes is a Python library that implements both the OpenGIS/PostGIS and standard PostgreSQL geometry types. It integrates with the psycopg Python/PostgreSQL interface. It provides implementations of all of the OpenGIS/PostGIS classes, except (x,y,m) and (x,y,z,m). It currently supports the EWKB, HEXEWKB, WKB, and WKT formats.
Schevo is a next-generation DBMS that focuses on database integrity, rapid development, user interface generation, rich schema definition, and assisted schema evolution. Schevo was designed to address shortcomings in SQL-based relational databases where they do not match well with object-oriented programming languages. Schevo solves this problem by combining relational features with the object-oriented programming language Python. Schevo includes a GUI Navigator that can display a fully interactive interface into any Schevo database, using the metadata available within a Schevo database file.
