Mole (Mobile Organic Localization Engine) provides room-level geoposition estimates using existing WiFi infrastructure. When you create an entry in the database by naming a room, your and other users' mobile devices will recognize when they are in that room. Other applications can poll or monitor the current room estimate and act accordingly, with context aware behavior. Because too much WiFi scanning drains batteries, it uses accelerometers and other tricks to keep scanning to a minimum while keeping update latency reasonable.
VisualFox-FX is an animation and visual effect library for Google Web Toolkit that leverages CSS3. VisualFox-FX supports JavaScript, CSS3, and hybrid mode (mixing JavaScript and CSS3 animation). VisualFox-FX uses the concept of a channel, which provides an extra layer of flexibility (allowing you to daisy-chain your animation). VisualFox-FX works directly with Element instead of Widget for added flexibility.
Mod_Dosblock is an Apache module written to provide Dos/DDoS protection at the HTTP layer. It works on HTTP URLs or HTTP headers, and can throttle requests based on the incoming URI/header pattern. This module can be particularly useful in an architecture where the content serving Web servers sit behind reverse proxy Apache servers exposed to the Internet. The gateway servers can throttle/DoS protect HTTP queries, saving the actual serving Web servers.
Hades is a high availability (HA) data source. This HA data source contains two other data sources: the main one and the failover one. The HA data source exposes one of them at a time and can automatically switch between them when certain conditions are met. These conditions are highly configurable. By default, when the main data source is overloaded, the failover data source is used. The load of a data base is determined on the basis of the average execution time of some configurable SQL statement that is examined periodically. The HA data source exposes through JMX its state and also operations for manual switching between the two contained data sources in case automatic switching must be suppressed for some reason.
jOOX stands for Java Object Oriented XML. It is a simple wrapper for the org.w3c.dom package to allow for fluent XML document creation and manipulation where DOM is required but too verbose. jOOX only wraps the underlying document and can be used to enhance DOM, not as an alternative. It is inspired by jOOQ and jQuery.
LabKey Server is open source software that helps scientists manage, analyze, and share complex datasets. It supports tandem mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, assays for neutralizing antibodies, Luminex, observational studies, and secure, Web-based collaboration. The software is modular, configurable, and customizable. It can be installed in your institution on any modern hardware and operating system. It is designed to integrate with your existing systems, instruments, and work flows, and to be readily adapted by skilled programmers to novel methods of inquiry. The project is under active development by a team of professional software engineers and a community of active contributors. New versions are released about four times per year.
