BitNami Tomcat Stack Native Installer is an easy-to-install environment to develop and deploy Java applications. It includes pre-configured, ready-to-run versions of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, and Java. Users can get the environment up and running in minutes after answering a few questions.
NagiosAppender is a pure Java implementation of a Log4j appender that allows the developer/administrator to send log records to Nagios via the NCSA server (using the push model). It provides a simple solution for Nagios administrators whose only alternative is to implement a polling function against against the output of a standard Log4j appender. The log4j configuration file provides for user-specific mappings between Log4j levels and Nagios levels. The configuration file also allows the user to select whether to set the Nagios 'service' and 'host' programmatically via Log4j MDC, or via the config file. Later releases support XOR encryption.
Zorba is a general-purpose XQuery processor implementing in C++ the W3C family of specifications. It is not an XML database. The query processor has been designed to be embeddable in a variety of environments, such as other programming languages extended with XML processing capabilities, browsers, database servers, XML message dispatchers, or smartphones. Its architecture employes a modular design, which allows customizing the Zorba query processor to the environment’s needs. In particular, the architecture of the query processor allows a pluggable XML store (e.g. main memory, DOM stores, persistent disk-based large stores, and S3 stores).
uimaFIT provides Java annotations for describing UIMA components which can be used to directly describe the UIMA components in Java code without the need for traditional UIMA XML descriptors. This greatly simplifies refactoring a component definition (e.g., changing a configuration parameter name). uimaFIT also makes it easy to instantiate UIMA components without using XML descriptor files by providing convenient factory methods. This makes uimaFIT an ideal library for testing UIMA components because the component can be easily instantiated and invoked without requiring a descriptor file to be created first. uimaFIT is very useful in research environments in which programmatic/dynamic instantiation of UIMA pipelines can simplify experimentation. For example, when performing 10-fold cross-validation across a number of experimental conditions, it can be quite laborious to create a different set of descriptor files for each run, or even a script which generates such descriptor files. uimaFIT is type system agnostic and does not depend on (or provide) a specific type system.
