Sculptor is a productivity tool that applies the concepts from Domain-Driven Design and Domain Specific Languages. You express your design intent in a textual specification, from which Sculptor generates high quality Java code and configuration. You can use the concepts from Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in the textual Domain Specific Language (DSL), e.g. Service, Module, Entity, Value Object, Repository. The generated code is based on well-known frameworks such as Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Java EE. Sculptor takes care of the technical details and the tedious repetitive work, and lets you focus on delivering more business value (and have more fun). The DSL and the code generation drives the development and is not a one time shot. The application can be developed incrementally with an efficient round trip loop. Sculptor is useful when developing typical enterprise or Web applications that benefit from a rich and persistent domain model.
AsDoclet can be used to generate Actionscript and C# files out of Java sources. Such a tool is useful for RIA and client/server applications where value objects are transmitted between server and client as serialized data that should be deserializable on both ends again. That includes remoting technologies like Flash Remoting, RTMP, Blaze DS, Red5, and Hessian.
Openbakery Translation is an internationalization tool for Java. Unlike standard i18n in Java, openbakery translation uses the text in the default locale as the key. There is also a tool which checks all of the source code for translations. This tool then provides a list of key/value pairs which have to be added to a certain resource file, and another list of pairs which can be removed. The translation works by simply calling a static method called "translate". The code works out of the box, without writing any properties files. You only write properties files when you really translate the program to a second language.
Kundo provides a structured, convention based approach for Java builds. Kundo has a pluggable, extensible architecture; it harnesses the power and flexibility of Groovy and Ant to provide a highly configurable Java build framework. Kundo achieves this flexibility with a plug-in architecture that attaches behaviors (provided by Kundo plug-ins) to build lifecycle phases. Kundo consists of a kernel and a set of foundation plug-ins. The kernel is responsible for the orchestration of the multiple collaborators within the build system.
CollabNet Connector Framework is an Openadaptor-based SDK that allows rapid integrations and migrations dealing with the artifact data shared between different tools in the ALM cycle in combination with the collaborative platforms from CollabNet. It features bidirectional, out-of-the-box tracker integration between HP Quality Center, CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise, CollabNet Enterprise Edition, database tables, and CSV files.
jmxsh is a fully scriptable command-line JMX client based on Tcl. It is simply a Tcl interpreter powered by Java/Tcl (with command-line history and editing provided by JLine) that has special command-line options for connecting to JMX servers and special Tcl commands for interacting with JMX servers. jmxsh is capable of simultaneously connecting to multiple JMX servers. There's also a "browse mode" for exploring the remote JMX namespace without knowing beforehand the names of MBeans or their properties. jmxsh and all its dependencies are distributed in a self-contained executable jar file for ease of use.
