Overthere is a Java library to manipulate files and execute processes on remote hosts, i.e. do stuff "over there". It was built for and is used in the XebiaLabs deployment automation product Deployit as a way to perform tasks on remote hosts, e.g. copy configuration files, install EAR files, or restart Web servers. Another way of looking at it is to say that Overthere gives you java.io.File and java.lang.Process as they should have been: as interfaces, created by a factory and extensible through an SPI mechanism.
PirateWall is a simple Twitter Client. It displays search results for a certain keyword or hashtag in realtime in a shell-based environment. It can also be configured to act as a data provider for many different visualization tools. For example, it is possible to use the client as a text generator for many XScreensaver applications like "apple2" or "starwars". When used in a Unix shell environment, colorized output can be generated.
RCSSmin is a CSS minifier. The implementation is based on the semantics of the YUI compressor, but aiming for speed instead of maximum compression so that it can be used at runtime rather than during a preprocessing step. rCSSmin does syntactical compression only (removing spaces, comments, and possibly semicolons). It does not provide semantic compression (like removing empty blocks, collapsing redundant properties etc). It does, however, support various CSS hacks (by keeping them working as intended).
QuickDic parses data from en.wiktionary.org and Beolingus to generate dictionary files that can be used offline. The Geomajas API project contains some annotations that can be used to indicate which parts (which classes and which (public) methods or fields) are considered as the API. This is particularly useful for projects where you want to mark the API without the need to refactor everything to interfaces and factories.
mod_pLua is an Apache HTTP Server 2.x module for developing Web applications with Lua. With mod_pLua, you can use Lua for scripting in two distinct ways; Embedded Lua scripting, <?lua print("Hello, world!") ?>, or plain Lua scripting with a CGI-style interface. mod_pLua precompiles all scripts and caches the compiled binary code so that each new call to the same file will be lightning fast, allowing you to serve hundreds of thousands of requests per minute on any modern server. Mod_pLua supports both the traditional Lua interpreter as well as LuaJIT for both Windows and UNIX platforms. If your Web server supports it, mod_pLua also utilizes APR_DBD and mod_dbd to handle persistent database connections through the dbopen() Lua function.
Funcito is a Java library which simplifies access to your favorite functional programming APIs by wrapping Java methods as the function-type objects defined in those libraries. Rather than creating another functional programming API, Funcito makes it easy to define function-type objects which wrap existing methods. As a result, your code has less noise and clutter of anonymous inner classes, annotations, etc. Your code remains safe for automated refactoring, since there are no String-based reflection or forced naming conventions. The supported frameworks are Google Guava, Jedi, Functional Java, Play! Framework 2, collections-generic, and Netflix RxJava.
