MirrorBrain is a framework to run a content delivery network using mirror servers. It solves a challenge that many popular open source projects face: a flood of download requests, often magnitudes more than a single site could practically handle. A central (and probably the most obvious) part is a "download redirector" that automatically redirects requests from Web browsers or download programs to a mirror server near them. Choosing a suitable mirror for a user's request is the key, and MirrorBrain uses geolocation and global routing data to make a sensible choice and achieve load-balancing for the mirrors at the same time. The algorithm is both sophisticated and easy to control and tune. In addition, MirrorBrain monitors mirrors, scans them for files, generates mirror lists, and more.
Tapestry is a rich, component-based object model for developing dynamic, robust, highly interactive Web applications. Applications are constructed in terms of Java objects, methods and properties, instead of URLs and query parameters. It builds and interprets all URLs, dispatching directly to application-specific "listener" methods. It includes complete source code, documentation, tutorials and a complete example J2EE application.
Sculptor is a productivity tool that applies the concepts from Domain-Driven Design and Domain Specific Languages. You express your design intent in a textual specification, from which Sculptor generates high quality Java code and configuration. You can use the concepts from Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in the textual Domain Specific Language (DSL), e.g. Service, Module, Entity, Value Object, Repository. The generated code is based on well-known frameworks such as Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Java EE. Sculptor takes care of the technical details and the tedious repetitive work, and lets you focus on delivering more business value (and have more fun). The DSL and the code generation drives the development and is not a one time shot. The application can be developed incrementally with an efficient round trip loop. Sculptor is useful when developing typical enterprise or Web applications that benefit from a rich and persistent domain model.
Ujorm is an easy-to-use ORM framework based on key-value objects. The framework was designed for rapid Java development with great performance and a small footprint. The key features are type safe queries, relation mapping by Java code, no entity states, and a memory overloading protection cache.
OWASP Zed Attack Proxy (ZAP) is an easy-to-use integrated penetration testing tool for finding vulnerabilities in Web applications. It is designed to be used by people with a wide range of security experience and as such is ideal for developers and functional testers who are new to penetration testing as well as being a useful addition to an experienced pen tester's toolbox. ZAP provides automated scanners as well as a set of tools that allow you to find security vulnerabilities manually.
Jolokia is a fresh way of accessing JMX MBeans remotely. It is different from JSR-160 connectors, as it is an agent based approach that uses JSON over HTTP for its communication. It provides new features for JMX remoting: bulk requests allow for multiple JMX operations with a single remote server roundtrip, there is a fine-grained security mechanism for restricting JMX access on specific JMX operations, JSR-160 proxy mode, and history tracking, to name a few. Jolokia's origins are in jmx4perl. Client bindings in addition to Perl have already been added, and more are planned.
