The POP and IMAP troubleshooter serves to diagnose and solve connection problems from client machines to email services. It reads the client configuration files (Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.), checks the individual settings, and then attempts to create POP, IMAP, and SMTP connections using these settings. The troubleshooter is coded in C++ using the Qt environment. It can be used generically, or can be customized for the demands of a particular email service.
FitNesse Maven Classpath Plugin is a Maven2 plugin that collects the dependencies of the entire project, including its sub-modules. After resolving the artifacts, it generates the classpath and inserts it into the Fitnesse test suites, thus solving the problem of maintaining the correct classpath in FitNesse.
Nit is a statically typed object-oriented programming language. The goal is to propose a statically typed programming language where structure is not a pain. It has a simple, straightforward style and can usually be picked up quickly, particularly by anyone who has programmed before. While object-oriented, it allows procedural styles. The Nit Compiler (nitc) produces efficient machine language binaries.
Glue Stick is a dependency injection framework for Java applications. Beans may be defined in Groovy scripts, GSON configuration files, or Spring Framework XML files. Compared with other dependency injection frameworks for Java, Glue Stick aims to be faster at assembling applications and simpler to use.
RunDeck is a command automation hub that helps you automate ad-hoc and routine procedures in data center or cloud environments. It allows you to run tasks on any number of nodes from a Web-based or command-line interface. It also includes other features that make it easy to scale up your scripting efforts, including access control, workflow building, scheduling, logging, and integration with external sources for node and context data.
Vaadin is a Web application framework for Rich Internet Applications (RIA). In contrast to Javascript libraries and browser-plugin based solutions it features a server-side architecture, which means that the majority of the logic runs on the servers. AJAX technology is used on the browser side to ensure a rich and interactive user experience. Vaadin is a big collection of UI components. There are server-side components like Button, Table, and Tree that you use to compose the application user interface. The components use events, listeners, and data binding to communicate with each other and the business logic. Vaadin is a robust architecture for rapid application development. The component-based architecture together with the data binding features help you to build applications that are easily modularized and refactored as needed.
Weed-FS is a simple and highly scalable distributed file system. There are two objectives: to store billions of files, and to serve the files fast! Instead of supporting full POSIX file system semantics, it implements only a key-file mapping. Instead of managing all file metadata in a central master, it manages file volumes in the central master and lets volume servers manage files and the metadata. This relieves concurrency pressure from the central master and spreads file metadata into volume servers' memories, allowing faster file access with just one disk read operation. It is modelled on Facebook's Haystack design paper. Only 40 bytes of disk storage are required for each file's metadata, and disk reads are O(1).
Puppet lets you centrally manage every important aspect of your system using a cross-platform specification language that manages all the separate elements normally aggregated in different files, including users, cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements like packages, services, and files. Its simple declarative specification language provides powerful classing abilities for drawing out the similarities between hosts while allowing them to be as specific as necessary, and it handles dependency and prerequisite relationships between objects clearly and explicitly.
A simple program to help novice guitarists tune a guitar more quickly (and better).
