jSieve is a Java implementation of the Sieve mail filtering language defined by RFC 3028. Sieve is an extensible mail filtering language. Its limited expressiveness (no loops or variables and no tests with side effects) allows user created scripts to be run safely on email servers. Sieve is targeted at the final delivery phase (where an incoming email is transferred to a user's mailbox). jSieve is implemented as a language processor that can be plugged into any Internet mail application to add Sieve support.

PDFassassin is a module for SpamAssassin that allows for the scanning of PDF files in email message attachments. Email bodies are scanned upon connection and checked for PDF attachments. Text is extracted from the PDF via pdftotext and scanned by SpamAssassin. Should the PDF contain images, the gocr program is called to extract the text content. The total spam score of the PDF is compared against the global required_score setting; if it's higher, a score equal to the one specified in pdf.cf is appended to the overall score of the email message.

ProteomeCommons.org IO Framework is a proper Java framework for handling spectra and peak lists. The framework can read and write to a number of different spectra and peak list formats, and it provides a simple, intuitive Java object model for working with spectra or peak lists. The jSPF library is pure Java SPF implementation. It was designed to match the current SPF specifications of 2006 (RFC 4408). SPF is also known as Sender Policy Framework. It was designed to detect email spoofing.
