CMSimple is a simple content management system for simple maintainance of small commercial or private sites. It has a simple installation, is easy to modify, and offers an unique combination of features. It uses an HTML-file for storing the entire site, which can be edited in your favorite editor. It has a dynamic TOC and document locator, a WYSIWYG editor (no plugin--functions in IE and Mozilla), a search function, link validation, image handling, and automatic backup. It is easy to set up your own layout; just edit the template and stylesheet.
PhiloLogic is a full-text database engine developed for humanities computing text analysis by the ARTFL Project and the Digital Library Development Center at the University of Chicago. It is optimized for fast searching across very large collections of documents. It currently supports TEI-Lite, TEI XML, and TEI SGML documents.
uWiki is a minimalistic wiki engine. All actions are implemented in external scripts. These scripts are wikified, and thus the wiki is extensible by itself. All dynamic access is protected through ACLs. Wiki content and Web content can be mixed in the same directory hierarchy. Markup engines and revision control are plugin-able. Currently, asciidoc as the markup engine and git as the revision control backend are provided. Subdirectories can form independent sub-wikis with own revision control. Features like distributed pages that syncronize between wikis, spam protection, and batch jobs to schedule mirroring of other content (bittorrent, git, rsync, and wget) are in planning.
Zimplit CMS is a Web-based content management system which enables users to create professional Web sites without being a Web developer or hiring one. Editing a Web site is extremely easy thanks to an "On-site" editor. The editor is on the Web site like an ordinary visitor, except that on every editable page, a small toolbar makes it possible to create pages, change texts, and add pictures, galleries, and videos. Users can use any CSS/HTML template they wish.
queXC is a Web-based data cleaning and coding/classification system that takes a data file (such as data collected from a questionnaire) and cleans the text input fields by spacing them and spell checking them. It allows operators to code text fields to existing coding schemes, or to create a coding scheme on the fly. Multiple operators can code and clean simultaneously, with the ability to assign operators to do particular codes. The queXC system includes some coding schemes created from ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) data. It can be used as an open source replacement for Nvivo in some situations.
