DIET Agents is a multi-agent platform in Java. A bottom-up design is used to ensure that the platform is lightweight, scalable, robust, adaptive, and extensible. It is especially suitable for rapidly developing peer-to-peer prototype applications and/or adaptive, distributed applications that use bottom-up, nature-inspired techniques.
Japha is an effort to implement the major functionality of the Java library in PHP. The functionality captured in the JPI includes I/O, utility classes such as data structures, Web service architecture, and reflection classes, lang classes for implementing a standardized API, bean classes for creating a standard bean implementation, SQL classes for database persistence (via the Web service architecture), and database abstraction as well as Object-Relational mapping, networking functionality, and even some complex math.
Care2x (formerly Care 2002) is software for hospitals and health care organizations. It is designed to integrate the different information systems existing in these organizations into a single efficient system. It solves the problems inherent in a network of multiple programs that are incompatible with each other. It can integrate almost any type of services, systems, departments, clinics, processes, data, or communication that exist in a hospital. Its design can even handle non-medical services or functions like security or maintenance. All of its functions can be accessed with a Web browser, and all program modules are processed on the server side.
Absolut Engine is a PHP/MySQL framework built on the basis of a former news publishing system. It features 3 layer access, article posting, editing, and deleting. Included are a basic image and file manager as well as a related articles manager. Rich text editing is provided via a built-in WYSIWYG editor that produces XHTML 1.0 Strict compliant code. It is easy to extend via the module functionality. It is fully configurable and easy-to-use. Modules include discussions, surveys, RSS feed export and import, search engine optimization, a messaging system, weather reports, and Google Maps.
VAdmind (Virtual Administrator Daemon) is set of Perl scripts and modules which can help with remote server management. It uses XML input/otput, and can be run by (x)inetd. It can receive multiple commands to execute, and it has been built to provide support for a scalable system administration environment. Since it takes XML, clients can be developed in a different set of environments with easy integration into the server.
Catalyst is a Web application framework for Perl. It is based on Maypole, and adds many features from Ruby on Rails, Struts, Spring, and Tomcat. The development philosophy focuses on Don't Repeat Yourself, Lego-like components, Code Generation, and very strong testability. It supports a number of plugins, models, views, and controllers.
libbnr is an implementation of the Bayesian Noise Reduction (BNR) algorithm. All samples of text contain some degree of noise (data which is either intentionally or unintentionally irrelevant to accurate statistical analysis of the sample where removal of the data would result in a cleaner analysis). The Bayesian noise reduction algorithm provides a means of cleaner machine learning by providing more useful data, which ultimately leads to better sample analysis. With the noisy data removed from the sample, what is left is only data relevant to the classification. libbnr can be linked in with your classifier and called using the standard C interface.
The Mobile Web Proxy is a (CGI) tool to make more Web pages available from some mobile devices (cell phone Web browsers, etc.). It employs tag cleaning and paging so that Web pages it can access have far greater chances of being rendered on devices that cannot display overly large or complex pages. It is simple, but it seems to substantially extend the portion of the Web available from devices that otherwise display messages like "413: Page cannot be displayed."
