The GTO format's primary usage is storage of static geometric data. The types of data you might find in a GTO file are things like polygonal meshes, various types of subdivision surfaces, NURBS or UBS surfaces, coordinate systems, hierarchies of objects, material bindings, and even images. It is used by film, video, and game production companies to streamline the modeling, animation, rendering, and 3-D paint processes. The distribution includes source code for a RenderMan Procedural plug-in, four Maya plug-ins, a Houdini plug-in, a number of command line tools, a Wavefront .obj parser, and two Python modules for reading, writing, and editing GTO files.

OsiriX is an image processing software dedicated to DICOM images produced by medical equipment (such as MRI, CT, PET, and PET-CT) and confocal microscopy (LSM and BioRAD-PIC format). It can also read many other file formats: TIFF, JPEG, PDF, AVI, MPEG, and Quicktime. OsiriX is able to receive images transferred by DICOM communication protocol from any PACS or medical imaging modality. OsiriX has been specifically designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional images.

Vit 1.00

bwfirt is a framework for benchmarking ray tracing kernels in the context of a realistic light simulation application. The most important capabilities tested here are: fast ray shooting and visibility functions for incoherent mono-rays (no bundles), numerical robustness, and small memory footprint. The framework implements a simple pathtracer to generate rays with a real-life distribution. Developers can easily plug in their cores to the framework, which then compiles the output images, running times, and memory utilizations of the different kernels into a PDF, providing a clear comparison.
