The Java 3D API enables the creation of three-dimensional graphics applications and Internet-based 3D applets. It provides high-level constructs for creating and manipulating 3D geometry and building the structures used in rendering that geometry. With this software, you can efficiently define and render very large virtual worlds. Blackdown's version of Java 3D uses the OpenGL low-level API to take advantage of 3D hardware acceleration.
DirectX support for Wine is a set of patches against Wine to implement DirectX 9. It allows modern games and 3D applications to run under Wine. The patches include many experimental and beta features that have not yet made it into the stable Wine source tree. The aim of the project is to provide full support for DirectX 8 and 9 so that all games and 3D applications will run on Linux or any other platform that Wine supports.
REPOS stands for Repository of Erlang-Projects.Org Software selection. It is a collection of major ready-to-use Erlang software. Erlang REPOS is distributed as a CDROM image (ISO). You can use every program included in the REPOS environment either directly from the CDROM, from your hard drive, or from a USB key.
ACFTools is a utility for manipulating X-Plane flight simulator aircraft and weapon models without using its Plane Maker. It can decode both Apple and Intel ACF/WPN formats into plain text files with a syntax similar to C, which can be edited and then re-converted into binary data. It is able to extract almost complete 3D models of aircraft (fuselage, floats, tanks, wings, stabs, propellers, engines) and write it in AC3D modeler format. Edited 3D parts can then be merged into plain text and consequently converted into binary ACF files.
lignumCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) program geared specifically to aid the woodworker in designing custom furniture and other hand-made objects. It supports both two-dimensional and three-dimensional representations of the design with full parametric interrelations. Additional features include optimized layout of the bill of materials on custom stock and photo-realistic rendering of the final design.
JPatch is an amazing 3D Modeling/Animation tool designed to model and animate "organic" shapes such as humans, animals, aliens, etc. It is a bezier-spline modeler and works with so-called "Coon's patches", the same patches that are used by the popular Windows freeware modellers sPatch and Hamapatch and the commercial program Animation Master (they are called Hash patches there). JPatch is written entirely in Java.
Teddy is an OpenGL-based 3D graphics library written in C++. Its main features are simple scene graph and windowing system-enabling multiple cameras, camera windows, and scenes. It focuses on easy and flexible manipulation of models and model materials in the scene graph. It contains a number of primitive objects like sphere, box, and cone, and it can load LightWave object and scene files.
