The NetCDF package consists of a few tools to operate on NetCDF and, by utilizing the compatibility API, HDF4 files. The tools are intended to be used from shell scripts. They include a couple of simple shell wrappers over the respective NetCDF functions (ncattget and ncattput) and a more sophisticated ncget tool. The ncget tool delivers (for NetCDF) or complements (for HDF4) the functionality of the "hdp dumpsds" command. It allows a selected part of a NetCDF variable or an HDF4 scientific data set (SDS) to be extracted in either an ASCII or binary form, applying the transformation specified by the scale_factor and add_offset attributes. This tool allows one to feed the data of NetCDF variables (or HDF4 SDS) to other tools designed to operate on either ASCII (text) or raw (binary) data.
Self-Adjusting Top Tree Implementation maintains a forest that changes over time through edge insertions and deletions. This implementation focuses on the simplified Top Tree interface, which allows you to solve a number of interesting graph problems like finding common ancestors, the heaviest edge, maintaining the diameter, center, or median and other (mostly network flow) problems. Using Top Tree interfaces, all outline problems can be solved in a clean declarative way. This implementation uses adapting ST-trees as the underlying data structure, achieving O(log n) time per expose(v,w) operation. There is also a demo that shows an easy way to integrate the toptree library and the host application.
Beaver is a simple concurrent backup system with snapshotting. It is based on a simple list of servers, a file of configuration options, and lists of things to be excluded or included. More powerful configuration options are available in the configuration files. Different copies of beaver backup can be run on the same server with different configuration files. Beaver backup is normally run by cron on a central backup box and uses keychain for remote authentication.
yuxtapa is a multiplayer real-time CLI game. It looks like a roguelike, but feels like a multiplayer 1st-person shooter with a focus on team play. The idea is to take the "feel" of such team based multiplayer games as Enemy Territory into an NCurses-based game with roguelike controls. Like roguelikes, yuxtapa is lightweight but surprisingly rich under the crude surface. It features several classes from which to choose, each with a different special ability, randomly generated maps which can also be saved and reloaded, and multiple game modes or objectives.
