BioMail is a Web-based application for medical researchers, biologists, and anyone who wants to know the latest information about a disease or a biological phenomenon. It is written to automate searching for recent scientific papers in the PubMed Medline database. Periodically BioMail does a user-customized Medline search and sends all matching articles recently added to Medline to the user's e-mail address.
BioJava aims to provide a comprehensive set of Java components for the rapid development of applications in Bioinformatics. It contains interfaces for representing Sequences, Features, and other important bioinformatics concepts. It can also read and write sequence data in a variety of common formats and communicate with Ensembl databases and with DAS and BioCorba servers.
Binkd is a TCP/IP daemon which transfers files between two Fidonet systems. It supports so-called "Binkley-Style outbound", also supported by most Fidonet software. It uses its own protocol (called Binkp), but that's not a big problem, as binkd is perhaps the most popular Fidonet-over-IP technology in the former USSR.
BingoX is an object oriented Web Application Framework written for mod_perl meant to dramatically reduce the time required to build large dynamic, database-driven Web sites and applications. BingoX is also a methodology for building web sites and applications which enables groups of developers to work together in a more consistent manner.
The Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) implements an Internet name server for Unix operating systems. The BIND consists of a server (or `daemon') called `named' and a resolver library. A name server is a network service that enables clients to name resources or objects and share this information with other objects in the network.
bigloo-lib is a set of libraries for Bigloo, the Scheme programming language compiler. Most of the libraries are interfaces for various C libraries, such as the C runtime library, Gtk++, the LDAP client API, or the XML parser API. Other libraries are written entirely in pure Scheme, such as the HTTP library and the NODE library. The libraries are intended to make it easier to write programs in Bigloo scheme. bigloo-lib also provides a suitable framework to configure, compile, install, and deploy Bigloo libraries.
