The Public IP ZoneCD has been created to help implement safe, free, wifi hotspots. NoCat dynamic firewall rules are used for user access and authentication. A transparent proxy sends all "Public" requests from NoCat through a content filter (Dansguardian) to block porn, hacker sites, extreme violence, illegal drugs, and other obscene and explicit Web sites. The content filter also blocks files extensions to protect your network from viruses, and restricts file sizes to save bandwidth.

Release Notes: A static IP config bug has been fixed. A dialog has been added for Open mode homepage redirect. NoCat::Remote::Control, tcpdump, linuxwias, and rdate have been added. nocat/bin/gateway, nocat/lib/NoCat/Accounting/XML.pm, nocat/lib/NoCat/Gateway.pm, nocat/lib/NoCat/Gateway/Open.pm, nocat/lib/NoCat/Gateway/Captive.pm, and nocat/lib/NoCat/Gateway/Passive.pm have been modified.


Release Notes: This release includes both GUI and no-X versions. The ability to use your own Acceptable Use Document was added. Remote Registration functionality (PHP API) was added, and content filter rules for Chat (PIC) were relaxed. A log mailer program was added (using cron), and the ability to run commands from a floppy script named init.sh was implemented. A dnsmasq bug was fixed.


Release Notes: This release fixes an open mode bug (FindBin) and the open mode content filter. It adds .ogm and .mkv to the blocked extension list.
