zlibc

Zlibc allows applications to transparently access compressed files. As soon as the application attempts to open a compressed file, zlibc uncompresses the data on the fly. No kernel patch, no recompilation of the executables nor the libraries is needed.

Release Notes: Updated for compatibility with Solaris 10 and current versions of Glibc.

Release Notes: This version has better compatibility with the current glibc. There is a new disable_child mode for disabling zlibc for all subprocesses spawned by the given command. This is useful for xemacs' dired mode.
