Release Notes: The profiler might fail creating snapshots of a profiled application running under a privileged user (root) in case the application was configured to use an alternate snapshot directory that is not accessible for a regular user. IBM Java support was enhanced. The integration wizard with the Eclipse IDE was improved.
Release Notes: Wall time can be configured via the profiler UI. Profiling of a remote J2EE server can be enabled with the help of a console version of the J2EE integration wizard. It is now possible to open huge memory snapshots (1 Gb and bigger) on 32-bit machines. The biggest objects are shown as a dominator tree instead of a plain list. The retained size of individual objects is shown in object explorer, paths, and incoming references views. Values of primitive types are available in non-HPROF snapshots. Mac OS X 64-bit Java is supported.
Release Notes: Loading of big snapshots was improved, especially when the profiler runs on a 64-bit JVM. Quality of sampling was improved for programs that use java.util.concurrent blocking. Eclipse 3.4 M7 is supported. Navigation to inner classes was improved for the Eclipse IDE. Integration with 64-bit Windows and Linux was improved.
Release Notes: IntelliJ IDEA 8 (EAP) is supported (tested with build 8280). Quality of sampling was improved for programs which use java.util.concurrent blocking. Navigation to inner and anonymous classes was improved for the Eclipse IDE. A Mac OS X 10.5 problem was fixed, namely a possible exception in the UI after closing tabs.
Release Notes: A UI for configuring of wall-time methods was added. Several critical bugs were fixed in J2EE profiling.
Release Notes: New UI settings for allocation recording were implemented for all supported IDEs. The problem of loading HPROF snapshots with non ASCI symbols was fixed. Pressing of "Enter" is not not required to apply filters for most of the views. Mac OS X 10.4 is supported (all architectures).
Release Notes: A problem which occurred when classes defined with a call to ClassLoader.defineClass() with name=null were not instrumented was fixed.
Release Notes: Telemetry graphs now show stacktraces of all running threads. New options "record each N-th object" and "record objects of size more than X bytes" were added to improve allocation recording. Several improvements were done in allocation recording of multidimensional arrays. Mac OS X 64-bit Java is supported.
Release Notes: A possible exception when the "Show blocked threads only" option is being selected in the "Monitors" view was fixed. Several problem with CPU profiling on some Linux kernels were solved.
Release Notes: Eclipse 3.4 M4 is supported. Profiling with Java 7 is supported. The profiler agent requires less VM memory. Wall time methods are configurable in Java 1.3/1.4 as well. Grouping works for SQL statements with leading spaces. Several bugs were fixed in IBM Java and JRockIt support.
