Release Notes: This release fixes a number of format string, system(), and mktemp() vulnerabilities. It adds optional support for six new image formats (HIPS and five Japanese formats: PIC, PIC2, MAG, MAKI, and PI), magic/suffix image-type identification, multi-page (animated) GIFs, a -startgrab option, and various new keyboard shortcuts. There are build improvements and bugfixes.
Release Notes: This release (correctly) fixes heap overflows in most of the image decoders; the third-party patches distributed in September 2004 were incomplete. In addition, it fixes some display bugs in the TIFF and XWD decoders, adds full support for version-4 BMPs ("bitfields"), and includes some other small improvements.
Release Notes: This is the first public release of the (unofficial) XV jumbo patches, incorporating (and reconciling) 25 bugfix patches and 21 enhancement patches into two easy-to-apply super-patches.
