XtremWeb is a research project belonging to lightweight GRID systems. It is a software platform to explore scientific issues and applications of Global Computing and Peer to Peer distributed systems, and allows you to setup and run Distributed System projects.

    Release Notes: The Worker was improved and the Activator was corrected and deeply tested. The Worker no longer takes any jobs until activated. Code cleanups were made.

      Release Notes: A bug in the Executor was corrected. Clients can now remotely activate and deactivate workers. Worker duplication in the database was fixed. Some Win32 activator bugs may still remain.

        Release Notes: This version features Mac OS X, Win 32, and FreeBSD support, a new PHP interface, and support for a master/ slave programming style with a Java API.

          Release Notes: This release fixes several important bugs. In addition the Client API has been included, which allows one to program parallel applications with XtremWeb in a master/slave way.

            Release Notes: This release includes a graphical user interface written in Java to control the workers and the server in the XW Monitor, and adds support for execution of Java classes on the worker and support for the Subterfugue Sandbox. It also includes documentation for the PovRay demo.
